Presto! Book 1 starts from the absolute basics, clearly presented and written for students of all ages from 6 to 106! This easy to follow, progressive course is designed to produce true musicians by using a variety of engaging tunes from traditional favourites to purpose-written pieces. By following the course and accompanying CD carefully, you will not only learn how to read music, understand and play pieces, you will also become accomplished at improvising, composing and accompanying other musicians. You will also learn how to quickly identify the patterns and shapes within the music, thus making music easier to read, understand and play. The pieces and exercises within the entire Presto! course book system are not only designed to be fun to play but are also uniquely arranged in such a way as to unlock the mysteries of music. Accomplished Presto! students have a greater understanding of music and mastery of performance than most students who have used other courses.

Right from the very first few pages, you will learn principles and concepts that you will continue to use for the rest of your musical life. You will learn how to read full music notation, interpret chord symbols into full piano accompaniments and techniques to build your dexterity and musical knowledge.
